By 15 June, Hamas had assumed full control over the Gaza Strip. Internal violence resulted in the deaths of 188 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the injury of 840. This represents a threefold increase in the number of Palestinians killed as a result of internal violence when compared with May 2007 (63) and brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip as a result of internal violence during 2007 to 386.
